The short version, because a long one goes unread

Be kind, do not break things on purpose except the things we ask you to break, and the work your child makes belongs to your child.

Who this is for

Zaalyo is a small Saturday coding school for children and the adults who come with them. A place is arranged with a parent, and a parent is responsible for the account.

Using the site

• Your sign in link is yours. Do not pass it on: anybody holding it is you, as far as the site is concerned.
• Do not upload anything you would not show the room. Work on the wall is seen by other families.
• Do not try to break the site itself, or take anybody else's work. Finding a fault and telling us is welcome and always will be. Email hello@zaalyo.ai.

Who owns what

Your child's work is your child's. We show it on the wall while they are on the course, under their handle, and we make no other claim on it. Ask us to take it down and we will.

The course material, the sheets and this site are ours. Print anything for your own family freely. Ask before using it to run a course of your own, and the answer will usually be yes.

What we promise, and what we do not

We run the sessions we have said we will run, and we teach them properly.

This site is a copy of what happens in the room, and never the thing the room depends on. If it is down on a Saturday, the session runs anyway, on paper and a local file. So we do not promise the site is always up, and nothing in a session ever requires it.

Code written on this course is written by learners, including children, and it is published for other learners to play with. It is not a product and it carries no warranty.

Ending it

Tell us and we stop. No notice, no reason needed. Ask for deletion at the same time and everything goes, as described in the privacy page.

We would only close an account for something serious, such as deliberate harm to another learner, and a person would talk to you first.

Agreeing to this

The join form asks you to tick that you have read this page and the privacy page. We keep the date you ticked it, so if these terms change later we both know which version you agreed to. That date is in your copy if you ask for one.

Changes

If these change in a way that matters, we email you. Small corrections go up here with the date below.
